OUR INVITATION TO YOU

We're so glad you've visited GracePointe online...we invite you to explore our website. Get a feel for who we are, what we believe, and how you can connect with God and us.

We also invite you to come meet us in person! GracePointe is made up of a loving group of regular people who believe and teach the Bible. We're not perfect...but because of Jesus Christ we love God, love each other, and extend that love to all the people around us. We are a family, a unique expression of unity in Christ with a variety of ages and cultural and ethnic backgrounds. This is a place in where you can find a caring community and a real relationship with God. A place where you can grow in your understanding of Him and of yourself. A place where you can serve other people and serve God. We gather together for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM (masks optional)  and have other opportunities to get involved throughout the week. We hope you'll come visit us in southwest Tucson and get to know us better!

Most importantly, we invite you consider faith in Jesus Christ. God created us to know Him, to love Him, and to find purpose and joy in doing what He designed us to do: To worship Him and to be connected to Him in close relationship.

Only one problem: we’ve all sinned and are separated from God and the spiritual life He gives (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 4:18). We have decided that we should rule our own lives instead of submitting to God. We think we deserve to make our own rules and our own way in life.

We lie, we cheat, we steal, we are selfish, we get angry and lash out at others, we don’t worship the God who created us, but instead desire other things that we think will be better for us than Him (money, pleasure, comfort, and lots of other things). We seek those things because we think they’re going to fulfill us and satisfy the deepest desires of our hearts…but they can’t!

What our sins actually bring to us is death. But God's offer to us is the free gift of life in Christ! Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” What we rightfully earn by our sin is physical and spiritual death—painful separation from God now and forever if we don’t turn to Him through faith in Christ. That’s because God is perfectly holy, and sinners cannot stand in His presence…even “all our righteous deeds are like filthy rags” before Him (Isaiah 64:6).

But God's gift—because He is good and gracious!—is spiritual life now and in heaven forever through faith in Jesus. He is the eternal Son of God who became a man over 2,000 years ago to live a perfect life of obedience on our behalf, die on a cross to pay the penalty for all of our sin, and rise again from the dead to bring us new life! He took the punishment that we earned by our sin—death. And then three days later He overcame death so that we might overcome it by faith in Him and live with God forever. Jesus made a way for us to enjoy the forgiveness of our sins and a personal relationship with God!

So, how do we get there? We admit that we’re sinners like the Bible says…that we can never earn God’s acceptance on our own. And then we believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again to pay for our sins and trust Him alone for salvation. We don’t trust in our good works or being “nice people” (Ephesians 2:8-9). We recognize that we can only know God and go to heaven by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone! We don’t add anything to grace to earn salvation…it is God’s gift to those who trust in Christ. He’s the only way! Jesus Himself said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

True joy, abundant life, and ultimate purpose can only be found in Christ! If you don't know much about Jesus, you can read about His life and ministry in the New Testament Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). We also have additional resources that we recommend. Of course, you can always contact us with questions about Jesus and the Bible, and we'll be glad to talk with you!
